Expert consensus on human papillomavirus vaccination for prepubertal girls

Abstract: Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination is one of the essential measures for cervical cancer prevention and control. By comprehensively analyzing the effectiveness, safety, cost-effectiveness and other factors of HPV vaccination, experts strongly recommend prepubertal girls (9~14 years old) as the primary target population,and HPV vaccines should be given priority to them. Improving the vaccination coverage among target populations can achieve the best effect of the primary prevention strategy of cervical cancer.
